News Sketches Reel About Resume Contact

I have
worked periodically as an animator and modeler in the past two years having contributed to several promotional animations as well as creating short personal animations. Most of my experience in 3D animation is with Maya, and I'm very knowledgeable about the program. My focus in college was computer animation, and I spent my time studying character animation in order to bring life to the characters and creatures I enjoy drawing so much.

Thinking about a characters movements, or planning out a sequence of actions occurring amongst a group of people and, or objects can be a very rewarding challenge. The way things move and behave is like an extra layer of depth and clarification that can be added when I'm trying to make an idea of mine into some state of semi-reality. Convincingly re-creating how a character should move and act is something I really love trying to accomplish. I think the combination of well designed visuals and great animation can really make something completely fictitious appear real, and that's what I really like to do with all my work.
I really like how with 3D animation software the visual design and the animating are handled at different times. It seems like you can strive for the utmost fidelity in
both without compensating for either of those two aspects.
